Results From Checking for Lead

To our Buckeye Water District Valued Customers,

A little over a year ago we made you all aware of some the new requirements that were mandated for us in regards to checking and inventorying for any and all lead service lines on the customer side of the meter.  We made you aware that you may see us digging on the customer side of the meter to see what type of service line you may have.

As you may remember it was and still is the EPA’s goal to try and rid of any and all lead lines for health issues and concerns. This includes customer’s service lines from the meter box to the structure of the home.  The positive thing was that we were only required to inspect 12” to 18” from the meter box on customer side.  We are required to report to the EPA and LDHH what our system consists of.

Some of you may have noticed that there was no digging involved around your meter box due to the fact that we were able to see from inside the box, called a visual inspection, what the customers water line consists of.  It is our privilege and requirement to announce to you, our valued customers, that there was no lead service lines found!

If you have any questions concerning what we did and were required to do please feel free to call our main office at (318)466-5746.  We are here Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  We will be more than happy to show you our spreadsheet with our findings.
